Level 3 In The Installation And Commissioning Of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment In Domestic, Commercial And Industrial Locations

This qualification is aimed at practising electricians, electrical technicians and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing. Electric Vehicles have an important role to play in meeting air quality legislation and the UK’s commitment to climate change targets. For this reason, the UK government is actively supporting the switch to electric vehicles.

Course Content

Know the key requirements for electric vehicle charging equipment (EVCE) installations. Know and identify equipment of, and differences between, the four charging modes, and Wireless Power Transfer types (WPT). Understand the preparation for the design and installation of EVCE. Be able to prepare to design and install EVCE. Be able to install EVCE in Dwellings, Commercial and Industrial Locations.
Understand requirements for initial verification and handover of an EVCE installation. Be able to conduct Inspection & Testing and complete handover to the client.

Entry Requirements

The course as no formal prerequisites to this qualification; applicants should be working within the industry.

Must have Initial Verification and 18th Edition

Assessment

Classroom-based – teaching on the code of practice. Online exam (40 questions), followed by the Practical Assessment.
