EAL LEVEL 3 AWARD IN INDUSTRIAL AND PANEL WIRING

This award covers the principles and practices involved in the construction of electrical panels for engineering applications together with the commissioning techniques of electrical panels and associated equipment.

Course Content

The qualification covers the relevant statutory and non-statutory legislation, safe systems of working, interpretation of drawings and diagrams, together with refurbishing, maintaining and repairing and commissioning electrical panels. The award comprises of one unit which has 75 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). It has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) 80 hours (notional time required by the learner to complete the qualification). 5 days classroom teaching with a practical assessment. Plus, a site visit.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, centres should ensure that the learner has the potential to achieve the qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.

Assessment

To achieve this Unit the learner must demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes. Evidence of the learner’s achievement will be placed in their portfolio. The main pieces of evidence for their portfolio will include:

  • Knowledge Assessment (PW3-001A).
  • Practical Assessment (PW3-001C).
  • Task(s) set by Teacher/assessor (if appropriate)
