About the Course
The Diploma offers an opportunity to practice and be assessed in a
secure environment on the installation of wiring systems together
with the relevant theory of electrical installation. The learner has
the opportunity to utilise the IET On Site Guide with some of the
units; and also acquire knowledge of electrical science and
principles. When completed, this qualification also facilitates
progression to an Industry recognised qualification.
Course Content
Health and safety, electrical installation theory and technology,
electrical installation methods, procedures and requirements; electrical
installation craft skills and electrical science and principles.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal entry
requirements for this qualification. However, learners must have the potential to
achieve all aspects of the qualification. In particular, learners should be able
to demonstrate that they have the minimum levels of literacy and
numerary required for the completion of the learning outcomes and the
assessments.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed by a mixture of on-screen exams,
written assignments, and practical assessments. The qualification is not
graded and the learner may only achieve a pass.
